Pandemic and Online Learning

During the winter of 2021 at BYU-Hawaii, I experienced firsthand the transformative impact of online learning due to the pandemic. Embracing platforms like Canvas and Zoom became essential for maintaining our education in the face of challenging circumstances. Using Canvas for assignments, assessment tests, modules, and quizzes provided a structured online environment, while Zoom meetings allowed us to connect virtually. However, the experience was not without its hurdles, especially when dealing with different time zones. Navigating these challenges demanded flexibility and collaboration from all parties involved. Despite the difficulties, I found solace in the resilience of both students and educators, adapting to this new way of learning. Online education, with all its intricacies, has undeniably become a cornerstone in ensuring uninterrupted access to learning opportunities.

Bitmoji

I had a great time learning new skills and developing my creativity by participating in the Bitmoji Assignment on Google Slides. I had a great time creating my Bitmoji Classroom because it allowed me to add personality and coziness to my online classroom. For this assignment, I had to learn how to use Google Slides, which was illuminating. I learned how to incorporate multimedia, organize objects, and make interactive links, all of which improved the user experience. This assignment's freedom with design and layout allowed me to express my creativity and individuality, which was something I really enjoyed. I did, however, get a little frustrated occasionally when I ran into small formatting and technical problems. Despite these challenges, the experience was incredibly rewarding, as it honed my digital design skills and provided me with a unique perspective on virtual classrooms.

That would be so difficult to do the Covid learning with a time zone! I never thought about that. Interesting to learn what others had to go through!!
