Educational Background

Business Marketing and TESOL
During my studies at Brigham Young University-Hawaii, I completed a comprehensive series of courses focused on the field of TESOL. These courses provided a thorough foundation in linguistics, language acquisition, and instructional methodologies. Classes such as Introduction to Linguistics and Phonology deepened my understanding of the structural elements of language, while courses like Teaching Grammar, Teaching Reading, Teaching Speaking, and Teaching Listening prepared me with practical skills and strategies for teaching different aspects of English to learners. Additionally, coursework in Sociolinguistics and Peace Linguistics helped me appreciate the role of language in societal and intercultural contexts, shaping my sensitivity to learners' diverse backgrounds. Observational opportunities through Observation in TESOL and research-based learning in Second Language Testing and Research Methods equipped me with the tools to evaluate student progress effectively. Overall, my training has provided me with a solid foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of teaching English, allowing me to support learners with informed, research-backed, and culturally responsive methods.
